Dieci Spa

The moment you walk through the doors of Dieci Lifestyle Spa in Livingston, you’re immediately struck by its size, warmth, and modern feel that’s both luxurious and welcoming.

The spa is 13,000 square feet over two thoughtfully designed floors. There’s a cute shop as you walk in with beauty, style, and wellness goodies for sale, a full-service salon with hair and nail services (and an area for men to get pedis, too), and a spa.

This fall, Dieci celebrates a major milestone: 30 years in business. For husband-and-wife founders and owners Marie and Paul Gaglioti, the anniversary represents much more than longevity—it’s a celebration of community, adaptability, family and, of course, self-care.

It’s also a reminder of how far they’ve come since they first had a vision to turn a former car dealership into an expansive day spa three decades ago.

A Trailblazing Beginning

In 1995, the idea of a European-inspired day spa with multiple offerings in skin care and body treatments under one roof was cutting edge. “There was nothing like it,” recalls Marie, who began her career as a makeup artist and channeled her background in art to design the spa. “We wanted people to walk in and feel like they had escaped to Europe.”

Her husband Paul, a hairdresser who had built a loyal following at his own salon in West Orange, was also thinking big, not only in terms of expanding but also growing the beauty services they could offer in one place. “He said, ‘I want to go to the next level,’” Marie says.

“That next level was a spa. We were ahead of our time, for sure. There were no computers. People didn’t even know what a facial really was.”

After doing some research, they learned that the spa concept originated in ancient Roman bathhouses and Italian hot springs. That history inspired the name “Dieci,” which means “ten” in Italian—a nod to their Italian roots. The number ten also worked well for marketing (ie. “ten reasons to come to Dieci”).

The Gagliotis’ vision was to offer top-tier beauty and wellness services in a warm space. They also made it their mission to focus on training and education for their staff while building connections within the Livingston community.

Marie Gaglioti

Marie’s makeup artistry background gave her an understanding of facial structure, skin tone, and technique. “Every face I worked on felt like painting a canvas,” she says. “It was all about dimension and detail.” Paul focused on training Dieci’s stylists, recruiting recent cosmetology graduates and training them in-house for two years. Then they sent them to top training academies in New York City, Florida and California. The result is a team of stylists and estheticians who have been with Dieci for 20 years or more.

The past three decades haven’t been without challenges, including the 2008 recession and the COVID-19 pandemic. Marie credits the spa’s loyal team and clients as two of the biggest reasons they were able to withstand those challenges. “We’re a family-owned business, and we treat our staff like family. That’s what’s kept us going.”

Classic and Forward-Facing Beauty and Wellness

Today, Dieci offers a curated mix of classic services with their own take on what’s trending. During a recent visit, I got to try facial fitness: a sculpting, gua sha-based treatment that lifts and tones facial muscles. Gua sha is a traditional East Asian technique that calls for gently scraping the skin with a smooth-edged tool to improve circulation, release tension, and promote lymphatic drainage. “It’s like a workout for your face,” Marie says. “But in our version, you’re lying down, relaxing, and listening to music.”

Luciana, who has been with Dieci for 25 years, did my facial fitness session. It featured a mix of microchanneling (a gentler alternative to microneedling), Celluma LED light therapy, and lymphatic drainage massage. The experience is super relaxing and leaves your face with a noticeable glow from the skin “workout.”

Celluma LED light therapy at Dieci Spa

After facial fitness, I had a chance to experience Dieci’s Himalayan Salt Lounge. The lounge circulates microscopic salt particles through the air, which are great for your skin and also have respiratory benefits. “If you’ve ever gone to the beach and just breathed in that air—you know the feeling,” Marie says. “It’s like that. But here, all year round.” The spa also offers infrared sauna treatments, CBD massages, and targeted cupping for chronic pain or recovery.

When you work in the beauty industry, you know skincare, so we asked Marie about her regimen. “I use Eminence and a growth serum called Biopelle, made from snail stem cells. It’s full of peptides and hyaluronic acid—completely natural,” she says. “And I believe in treating yourself. A facial, a massage, even just a blowout—it makes you feel good, and that energy goes with you.”

A Major Milestone

To mark its 30th anniversary, Dieci is running monthly specials throughout the year, from facial bundles and body treatment discounts to seasonal hair and nail promotions. The celebration will culminate in a 30th Anniversary Party this October, bringing together clients, team members, and the Livingston community.

Paul and Marie in London

Last month, Dieci hosted its first-ever Wedding Expo showcasing vendors, beauty tips and pampering for brides-to-be and their wedding parties. “Our clients are savvy,” Marie says of the Livingston community. “They’ve pushed us to stay current and raise the bar. We wouldn’t be here without them.”

The family feel of their spa and business is another reason behind their success. Marie and Paul have been married for 39 years. The couple has 3 kids (Peter, Paula and Daniel) and 6 grandkids (Emilia, Paul, Daniela, Gianna, Luca and Angelina).

Their son Peter oversees a big part of the spa’s operations, handling everything from HR to inventory control. “We’ve worked together every day of our lives,” Marie says. “And we still love it. That’s rare—and I’m grateful.”

If you got a tattoo when you were younger and are now regretting it, you’re far from alone. In response to a growing number of adults looking to have their tattoos removed, there’s a new practice in New Jersey that specializes in just that. In recent years, the number of laser tattoo removal procedures has spiked among dermatologists and technicians at medspas and clinics. To meet the demand, a new Clark-based practice called Laser Eraser recently opened with an exclusive focus on removing tattoos in a facility owned and operated by board-certified physicians. We asked Dr. Lendbergh Hobson with Laser Eraser what getting a tattoo removed entails, how long it takes, what it costs and more.

LASER ERASER

New Jersey Family: It seems like the number of laser-removal procedures, particularly tattoo removal, is surging. What can you tell us about the trend of adults, and moms, in particular, getting tattoos removed?

Dr. Lendbergh Hobson: There has been a noticeable surge in the demand for tattoo removal, across all demographics, including mothers. There are numerous factors that can drive someone to seek tattoo removal, ranging from professional considerations, such as certain jobs requiring no visible tattoos, to personal milestones like parenthood, or a wedding prompting a reevaluation of past tattoo choices. Some people may want to remove or fade an existing tattoo to make room for a new piece of artwork.

What may have once resonated with us may no longer align with our current selves, and it’s empowering that people now have options rather than feeling stuck with something they no longer desire. With advancements in tattoo removal technology, individuals now have access to high-quality services that can effectively address tattoos they wish to remove.

NJF: What inspired you to open Laser Eraser and what kinds of services do you offer?

LH: Laser Eraser was founded by three board-certified physicians, and we have all undergone extensive training in laser tattoo removal. We established our practice to address the specific demand for experienced physicians offering this service in New Jersey. Witnessing the growing desire for tattoo removal, often fueled by patient apprehension, our goal was to create a specialized medical facility.

Unlike many medical spas that offer a wide range of services without a specialized focus on laser tattoo removal, Laser Eraser is dedicated solely to this procedure. We ensure a high level of expertise and prioritize a professional and personalized approach to each individual.

NJF: What role do doctors play in removing a tattoo? Does the tattoo removal approach depend on a person’s medical background? Or where the tattoo is located?

LH: At Laser Eraser you will have your consultation, procedure, and aftercare performed and overseen by a board-certified physician. During this time we will review:

  • Initial Assessment and Consultation: Our doctors will conduct an initial assessment to evaluate the tattoo, the patient’s skin type, and overall health. We can help determine the suitability for laser tattoo removal and discuss potential risks and benefits.
  • Medical History: A person’s medical background is crucial in assessing their candidacy for tattoo removal. Certain medical conditions, medications, or skin conditions affect the type of lasers used.
  • Treatment Plan: Our team will create a personalized treatment plan based on the individual’s medical history, skin type, and the characteristics of the tattoo. The location of the tattoo can influence the removal approach, and we take this into consideration when planning the treatment. For example, Cosmetic Tattoos/Permanent Makeup (eyebrows, beauty marks, scalp micropigmentation etc.) on the face/head are approached differently than those on the body. We will also prescribe you topical anesthetics to minimize any discomfort.
LASER ERASER

NJF: Can you explain the process of removing a tattoo?

LH: At Laser Eraser we use the Picoway Laser which is one of the most advanced and effective lasers for tattoo removal. Essentially, the laser emits high-intensity light pulses in very short picosecond durations. These pulses target the tattoo ink particles, specifically breaking them down into smaller fragments without damaging the surrounding skin.

A typical session begins with the patient wearing protective eyewear to shield their eyes from the laser light. We advise applying the topical anesthetic 30 minutes before your appointment to minimize discomfort during the procedure. Next, the Picoway laser is calibrated to the specific characteristics of the tattoo, including its color, depth and complexity.

Once everything is set, our physician passes the laser over the tattooed area, delivering short bursts of laser energy. As the laser light is absorbed by the tattoo ink particles, they heat up and shatter into tiny fragments. Over time, the body’s immune system recognizes these fragments as foreign and gradually removes them through the lymphatic system.

NJF: Many tattoos require multiple sessions and take time to remove. Can you explain this process and how long it typically takes to remove a tattoo?

LH: On average, it can take anywhere from 5 to 15 sessions or more to achieve desired results, but this can vary widely depending on several factors:

  • Size and Complexity of the Tattoo: Larger or more intricate tattoos often require more sessions to break down and remove the ink particles effectively.
  • Ink Colors: Certain colors are more challenging to remove than others. Darker colors like black tend to respond better to laser treatment, while lighter colors may require additional sessions.
  • Ink Depth: Tattoos that are deeper in the skin may require more sessions to effectively break down the ink particles.
  • Type of Ink Used: Unfortunately, tattoo ink is not FDA-regulated. The inks used are all different and can contain various ingredients. This causes various results.
  • Age of the Tattoo: Older tattoos tend to fade more easily than newer ones, so they may require fewer sessions for removal.
  • Skin Type: At Laser Eraser, we specialize in removing tattoos on all skin types.
  • Location on the Body: The location of the tattoo on the body can influence the number of sessions needed. Areas with better blood circulation typically need fewer sessions to be removed.
  • Pre-existing Scarring: If the tattoo was applied over scar tissue, the presence of scar tissue can make removal more challenging and may require additional sessions.

This is why we have a thorough consultation with all of our clients before the process to assess their individual needs and plan.

NJF: Is tattoo removal painful? What are the side effects? What does recovery look like?

LH: We try to make the process as painless as possible. Before your appointment, we prescribe patients a numbing ointment to help minimize any pain. Prior to using the laser, the area is iced and cold air is blown over the tattoo to cause an anesthetic effect.  As for side effects, they’re typically mild and temporary. You might experience redness, mild soreness and swelling to the treated area. This will usually resolve in 2-10 days. Recovery varies from person to person, but for most folks who have minor discomfort it will only last 2-3 hours.  It’s important to follow post-care instructions including avoiding sun exposure and keeping the area clean and moisturized. Overall, the majority of patients find that the process is fairly easy and well worth it to achieve their desired tattoo removal results.

NJF: How much can a patient expect to pay for laser tattoo removal?

LH: The cost of laser tattoo removal can vary widely based on several factors, including the size and complexity of the tattoo, the number of sessions required and the location of the tattoo.

At Laser Eraser financing options for laser tattoo removal are available. We also offer free consultations at LaserEraserNow.com to get a personalized assessment and cost estimate based on their specific situation. During the consultation, patients can discuss pricing, the expected number of sessions and the financing options.

NJF: Are there some areas of the body that are more challenging for tattoo removal than others?

LH: Yes, the ease of tattoo removal can vary depending on the location of the tattoo on the body. Generally, areas with better blood circulation and a higher concentration of immune cells tend to need fewer sessions and the removal process is quicker. Tattoos on the extremities, such as hands and feet, may need a few more sessions due to the relatively lower blood circulation in these areas.

NJF: What should patients know about care after the tattoo is removed such as staying out of the sun or any other guidance?

LH: After undergoing laser tattoo removal, we provide post-treatment care guidelines to optimize healing and minimize potential complications. General recommendations include keeping the area clean and dry, avoiding picking or scratching, protecting the areas from the sun by avoiding direct sunlight and using a high SPF when exposed to the sun and staying hydrated.

NJF: What are some other services you offer besides tattoo removal?

LH:  At Laser Eraser, we focus on tattoo removal which includes body art and permanent makeup/cosmetic tattoo removal. This includes not only complete tattoo removal but also tattoo fading for individuals seeking cover-ups.

NJF: What is the biggest misconception you see with prospective clients when it comes to tattoo removal?

LH: One of the biggest misconceptions among prospective clients seeking tattoo removal is the assumption that all tattoos are the same to remove or that it only takes one session. As we described earlier, there are several factors that will go into the removal process.

Another misconception is that all laser tattoo machines are the same. At Laser Eraser we will always use the latest technology. We currently use the Picoway Laser, which, as we described earlier, emits high-intensity light pulses that specifically target the tattoo ink particles, breaking them down into smaller fragments without damaging the surrounding skin. This laser is excellent for treating even difficult blue, red and green tattoos, which some people may have been told in the past can’t be removed.

Laser Eraser is located at 77 Central Avenue in Clark.

A new salon at the Jersey Shore lives up to its name with its wellness approach to beauty. Artemis Ethos Holistic Beauty Soul Spa Salon in Asbury Park offers so much more than haircuts and color. The holistic salon also has everything from reiki and a body gua sha ritual (a form of Chinese wellness that alleviates body pain) to all-natural spray tans, brow reshaping and makeup application. The real draw is its head spa, a full-on immersive scalp massage that you can only find in a few places in New Jersey.

STAFF PHOTO

As soon you enter the salon/spa, you’ll smell incense and see calming statues and crystals in the gift shop.

STAFF PHOTO

The salon has two healing rooms, which have massage beds but are open and encased by glass walls.

STAFF PHOTO

As you walk under the gigantic starburst of a chandelier you come to the tea bar. The vibe is purely Asbury Park in the best way.

STAFF PHOTO

The eclectic artwork on the wall is for sale to support local artists.

STAFF PHOTO

You’ll notice bookshelves throughout, and you can grab a book and a cup of tea while you wait for your appointment.

The head spa is a showstopper. Tucked away in the back of the salon is the cozy Midnight in the Garden Room where you can book a 30-minute enhanced hair-washing appointment. This is a quiet, dimly lit room where candles and incense burn as you listen to binaural beats (aka music that encourages you to meditate).

The goal of this heavenly scalp massage is to help you relax while staying present. Your senses of touch, sound and smell are activated during the treatment, such as during the playing of crystal bowls, lightly shaken beads by your ears, scrubbing of your head, placing a cool mask over your eyes, and spritzing an essential oil mist over your face. It includes a quick arm and leg massage, too. It’s the treatment you didn’t know you needed: 30 minutes of pure bliss.

You can add on a reiki session, mini chakra cleanse or scalp treatment and, of course, a blowout for the full treatment.

STAFF PHOTO

Artemis Ethos opened in October to encourage community support. There are special events planned throughout the month, such as group breathwork, a tea ceremony, open mic night, an angelic healing circle and comedy shows. The salon also holds book, clothing and plant swaps, too.

STAFF PHOTO

Don’t leave without a little souvenir like Gua sha tools, handmade bracelets, essential oils or infused serums.

Artemis Ethos is located at 708 Cookman Ave. in Asbury Park. The salon is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. There is metered street parking.

MARKETFAIR PRINCETON / Ladies Night

You’re busy, you’re tired, you’re pulled from every direction – but that doesn’t mean you can’t still be you! It’s perfectly OK – and healthy – to take some time out for yourself, whether it’s with your hubby on a date night or with your best friends for girls night out. Here are some ideas for what to do when you need to rejuvenate and reenergize yourself.

1. Rest and Relax. What could be better than lying down for an hour under a warm blanket, listening to relaxing music, smelling stress-reducing scents and relieving the tension of your muscles? A trip to the spa is the perfect way to unwind with your girls (or even by yourself). If you choose a location with a lounge, like Avanti Day Resort in Manalapan or SoJo Spa Club in Edgewater, you can hang out with your friends as you wash away your troubles.

2. Say Cheers. If you want to chill and relax, visit one of the many breweries or wineries in NJ. Laurita Winery in New Egypt has food truck festivals almost every weekend. If you want more action, cheer on your favorite team at one of these sports bars. Tommy’s Tavern + Tap has TVs all over the place, plus patio seating, so you can enjoy a good ol’ cheeseburger, pizza or sushi with your gals.

3. Channel Your Inner Van Gogh. Spark some creativity by bringing your clique to a paint night. You can go to Pinot’s Palette to paint a scene on canvas, or try your hand at pottery painting at Color Me Mine. The Electic Chic Boutique in Montclair offers a variety of classes, anything from crotchet wire bracelet making to a playing card art workshop to Chinese calligraphy.

4. Let It Go. Meditation is a great way to clear your mind. Even though this is very individual, you can still bring your gal pals with you so you can walk on the beach in Seaside after a full moon ritual. You can grab a coffee on the boardwalk after you listen to singing crystal bowls among the splashing waves of the ocean.

5. Stretch Your Limits. Yoga has proven benefits for relaxation. Step it up a notch with puppy yoga by Doggy Noses & Yoga Poses, or goat yoga at Mad Lavendar Farm in Milford. You and your friends will love playing with the cute, cuddly animal babies – just don’t miss your own babies too much!

6. Release Your Energy. Hatchet throwing has become a very popular way to reduce stress, not only because of its physical nature but because you’ll spend time laughing with your girls. Call in advance to see if your closest location is BYO.

7. Lounge Around in Style. Whether you and your crew like to party at a club or prefer a more chill atmosphere, a lounge is a great place to sit back, sip on some wine and talk about what’s going on in your daily lives. Orchard Park by David Burke has a bar, restaurant and lounge area, plus an outdoor patio.

8. Laugh It Up. A comedy club is a great place to let go of your troubles. Laughter really is the best medicine. The Stress Factory in New Brunswick and Uncle Vinnie’s Comedy Club in Point Pleasant Beach have shows almost nightly. If you’re feeling extra brave, sign up for an open mic and treat your friends to a real show!

9. Belt It Out. Music speaks to our souls, so why not go with the girls to a karaoke bar? Plan a night at Songbird Karaoke in Collingswood, or if a you need a midweek pick-me-up, Grasshopper off the Green in Morristown has karaoke every Tuesday.

10. Make Your Getaway. Don’t just plan a girls’ night out, plan an entire girls’ weekend away! Crystal Springs Resort has adult-friendly activities like a cabaret, wine tour and tasting, and time spent sitting by the Biosphere Pool. Atlantic City is a great option, too.

11. Indulge in Your Sweet Tooth. Share the juicy gossip while sipping on cocktails and tasting cakes at the Sweet Suite at Calandra’s Italian Village in Caldwell. It’s true, you don’t have to be planning a wedding to sample the bite-sized desserts.

Drip Medi Spa
DRIP MEDI SPA

I’ve been getting facials for years but hadn’t tried a hydrafacial until recently when I visited Drip Medi Spa in Fort Lee for the first time. Drip Medi Spa is New Jersey’s first boutique medical spa offering up a mix of cosmetic, wellness, skincare and beauty treatments.

What sets medi spas—short for medical spas—apart from day spas? A medi spa offers all the relaxation and pampering of a day spa along with nonsurgical aesthetic medical treatments (like Botox, fillers and Microdermabrasion) under the supervision of a licensed medical professional. Nena Kallopoulos, the founder of Drip, is a board-certified physician assistant whose expertise lies in all things injectables, skin care, vitamin drips and wellness.

I knew I wanted a non-invasive treatment for my face so during my recent visit I decided to try a hydrfacial. A hydrfacial does three huge things for your skin—gives it a deep cleanse, extracts all the bad stuff and hydrates and moisturizes like you’ve never experienced before.

Breaking Down a Hydrafacial

One of my biggest barriers to getting spa treatments is the time they take—my schedule and commitments are so packed which is another reason I wanted a hydrafacial. Without add-ons, the facial can be done in 30 minutes. We started with a deep cleanse and peel. My esthetician did a gentle exfoliation before getting into the extraction part of the facial. Using a suction (this is gentle and doesn’t hurt at all), she removed dead skin cells and debris from my pores. I hadn’t given my skin any love for a while and she showed me a jar that was about a quarter of the way filled with gunk removed from my skin. It was both gross and gratifying to see!

The final part of a hydrafacial here is by far the best—the hydration piece. I got an add-on Hydro Jelly mask for extra moisture for my face and lips. Then, using heavy-duty, intense moisturizers, my esthetician saturated my skin with serums filled with antioxidants and peptides that instantly gave my skin a dewy glow. She also used LED light and a little lymphatic massage. It sounds like an ad but you really do see instant results. I had a small red spot after the facial from the extraction part, but that went away a day later and my skin felt great.

Dermaplaning Explained

Add-ons are a big part of any experience at Drip, where medical professionals and estheticians customize experiences and treatments based on your needs. It had been ages since my last facial and I was in need of some extra cleansing and TLC so I had a Dermaplaning treatment done before my hydrafacial. At its most basic, Dermaplaning is the process of scraping off the dull and dead skin cells from your face while also removing facial hair. My esthetician used a scalpel to gently scrape off all the unwanted stuff. The results were instant—my skin felt smoother and looked brighter. Dermaplaning is a great precursor to any facial since it allows greater penetration of serums and other skincare products to do their job. I had a little redness afterward but that went away in a day. Results last up to 8 weeks.

At the end of my facial, my esthetician wrote out a personalized “prescription” for my skin, which is a list of skin care recommendations and notes. She suggested I use a hydrating cleanser daily to cleanse and replenish my dry skin.  She also recommended using an exfoliating polish at least once a week to remove dead skin cells and boost collagen. Finally, she listed a daily moisturizer and night crème to boost hydration and smooth the lines and suggested all face creams have an SPF of 50.

More Treatments

Beyond a hydrafacial, Drip offers an array of cosmetic and wellness treatments. One of the most popular is IV vitamin therapy, which offers a speedy way to replenish your body with antioxidants, vitamins and electrolytes and more. Because your body typically absorbs 40 percent of the nutrients from a multivitamin, more women have been trying IV vitamin therapy which absorbs all the nutrients directly into your bloodstream. It’s said to be great for an immune system boost, increasing your energy level, strengthening joints and muscles and, of course, glowing skin.

There are so many cosmetic procedure options at Drip, too, like Botox, Juvederm, Voluma and more. You can see a complete list of services here.

A hydrafacial is $295 without add-ons. Dermaplaning is $150. Discounts are available when you purchase multiple treatments in a package.

NJ ACUPUNCTURE CENTER

DESTRESS WITH A FACIAL + ACUPUNCTURE

Don’t let the needles used during acupuncture scare you. Facial acupuncture is a painless way to help clear your complexion, fight signs of aging and relax. By increasing circulation while balancing qi (the body’s vital energy), tiny needles can also increase and boost collagen production. When combined with body points, acupuncture can elicit an anti-stress and anti-inflammatory response by releasing feel-good endorphins and lowering your body’s cortisol levels. Follow this with a HydraFacial treatment, which takes 30 minutes from beginning to end. Your skin will be gently exfoliated and thoroughly cleansed as debris is suctioned away, which feels like a pain-free vacuum for your face.

BARE AESTHETIC

SCHEDULE A SKIN PICK ME UP

Laser technology is one of the easiest ways to give your skin a brighter, younger glow without taking on an invasive procedure. Clear + Brilliant is a laser treatment designed to improve the look of fine lines, skin tone and texture. A facial treatment takes about 30 minutes with no downtime. The goal is to see a noticeably youthful glow after treatment. With consistent treatments it may even make skin look airbrushed. The process is gentle and requires patients to avoid sun for a few days post-treatment since skin will be sensitive. Results can last for months and work in tandem with most other cosmetic procedures.

Sojo Sa Club, NJ’s famed reimagined Korean day spa and hotel in Edgewater, has just announced it will require all guests to either be fully vaccinated or have a negative COVID-19 test, within 72 hours, before entering the spa. Earlier this month, Sojo announced all its employees must also be fully vaccinated or show a weekly negative test.

SOJO SPA CLUB

“Our first responsibility as a business is the safety of our employees, our customers and our community,” said Ashley Jayco, Executive Director of Marketing & Business Development. “As such, we are taking all necessary precautions as we look forward to returning to a new normal when this pandemic comes to an end.”

SOJO SPA CLUB

The new mandate will go into effect on October 1. Proof of the vaccine may include the NJ Docket app, the NYS Excelsior Pass app, the NYC COVID SAFE app or an original, digital or photocopy of the CDC vaccination card (both sides required).

Named the best spa experience in the state by New Jersey Family magazine readers, SoJo boasts specialty outdoor pools, therapeutic baths and sauna rooms. It’s rooftop infinity pool has amazing views of New York City. The spa has a cafe, a hotel and so much more.

Sojo is believed to be the first spa to require proof of a vaccine or a negative COVID test. Earlier this month, It’s Greek to Me, a restaurant in downtown Ridgewood, also announced it would require proof of vaccination to dine indoors. Outdoor dining there is open to everyone, regardless of vaccination status. And just yesterday, Hoboken’s public school district announced that students who are old enough to get a COVID-19 vaccine but have not been vaccinated will be tested for the virus weekly. Hoboken is believed to be the first public school district to require a vaccine or negative test.

Microblading
Where: Casa De Piel, 2 Highwood Ave., Tenafly

Through this method, the eyebrows are enhanced by applying pigment in natural hair-like strokes with the use of state-of-the-art microblading technology. Owner Michelle Bernard is skilled in natural looking application of the pigment with a hand-held pen, and she expertly mimics tiny, fine hairs applied in strokes.
Cost: $625 including touch-up which is required at 6-9 weeks after the initial procedure
